This seems to be a common occurrence.
Samus is a bounty hunter, which means she’s hired by someone to do basically everything she does. That “someone” is usually the Galactic Federation (probably because they can pay her a lot), and her job is usually along the lines of “exterminate the metroids”. So why do they keep making more!? (I mean, we got a good reason to make more in Fusion, but in that game, they were somehow more interested in preserving the X, which are way worse.)
The Galactic Federation is presented as some sort of monolithic entity, with zero distinction between the various worlds that contribute unless Samus has some reason to go there. However, I feel like there must be some member worlds that wish they had a little more influence on state affairs, or want to leave, or otherwise don’t believe that whatever weapons they’re working on will come back to bite them. This doesn’t feel like just one person deciding to go and do something stupid, and it definitely gives the impression that the Space Pirates are of little to no concern. So why do they need bioweapons?
