That finishes out the Morph Ball for this game!

I really like the Spider Ball Guardian in this game. The first game had Thardus guarding it, which was also cool, but that was more just a test of using the stuff you just got. This has you actually using the Morph Ball the whole time. (Same with Power Bombs, but that’s a far easier boss.) While some of the jumps at the end are a little tighter than I would like—mostly because the Morph Ball doesn’t handle the tops of slopes well—this is one of the boss fights that helps to cement the game’s position at the top of the Trilogy for me.

I don’t know that you ever really get enough Power Bombs to feel comfortable using them in combat until the game is almost done. Otherwise, you risk not having any when you get to a yellow door. That said, if you do feel comfortable using them in combat, they are quite effective. They’ll totally clear a huge area of anything that dies in one Super Missile or less, including things like War Wasp Hives. It’s a good way to save your missiles, if for some reason you feel like your missiles will run out before your power bombs.
