Traitor to the squad, anyway.
Considering what happened at the end of Fusion, it doesn’t surprise me that there is someone from the Galactic Federation doing something that’s actively detrimental to Samus’s mission. However, Samus is the hero, and is certainly doing heroic things, no matter how people around her behave. While I get that there is security in keeping things like this secret, there’s also security in making sure nobody is working on this stuff by exposing it. Personally, I prefer the latter, and interestingly, it actually shows up in the plot of Emilie’s story. Still have to actually write that part, though, as it’s in book 2.
That lava worm was the menace of my entry to Sector 3 earlier, killing me three times as I had to figure out without prompting that I was supposed to jump while the worm tried to eat me. Otherwise, it was instant death. Funny how its voracious appetite led to its downfall, since it basically swallowed the hook to which we could repeatedly attach fishing line. Fishing has been a part of Zelda for a very long time, but I never imagined I’d go fishing in a Metroid game!
