That’s probably the cruelest logic I’ve seen in a multiworld.
Something I particularly like to do is play games with other people. However, it’s rare that I can get people to actually do that, especially at a time that works well for me. This didn’t line up too well with my normal stream hours, but it was close enough to work, so I went ahead and did it. The folks on the Hollow Knight Randomizer (Discord) server do races and other cooperative games all the time, but multiworlds are rare so this was a very special occasion.
Explanation: “Multiworld” means that everyone is playing the same game, but they all get to choose how their randomizer settings are configured and they don’t have to align with everyone else. I’m relatively familiar with the most common randomizer mods, so I generally know what’s important to pick up and what is not. Pimpas had something in there that gave him extra abilities, but otherwise I wasn’t surprised by anything. Anyway, a multiworld will shuffle items among all participants’ games, so while you might gather some things for yourself, a good chunk will be for the other people playing with you. I like this setup because I can do whatever I want and still have fun with others.
As for the “cruel logic” I mentioned: most of the time, you want the “logic” (that is, the organization of the items placed) to allow you to always have something to do. However, even with one of the four players quitting out immediately (giving me everything of mine that was in his game), I still very quickly ran out of things to do. I think the randomizer expected us to do a whole lot of waiting on each other, or at least expected me to do that. I’m already not the fastest ever, so I really hope I have a more open game than others if anything. While I am fairly confident I can do all the challenges, some might take me a few tries.
