
I thought Samus designed this ship herself.
It’s a cool little detail that the scan of your ship says that Samus designed it. But you’d think she’d remember to include extra firepower! This is the only game where your ship can do anything while you’re outside of it (aside from when the animals pilot it in Fusion), so it’s neat that Samus thought ahead to have functions like that. I guess she’s a bit of a genius as well, beyond the courageous hero we always see. Well, depending on how much input she had on the design. It might be that the ship parts are a bit more common than her power suit.
I believe this is the first time in the series that we have rooms you can’t clear just by shooting everything that moves (and their hives). Yes, we’ve had infinitely-spawning foes before, but those are always one-hit mini-foes that are just there so you can restock. Aerotroopers are a bit more challenging than that. The first time I encountered it, I didn’t realize they would just keep spawning, hence the game over in the last video. In this video, I already knew they were infinite and just killed enough of them that I could shoot the turret parts. It certainly helped when I realized I could fire upon the foes all the way across the arena that were trying to undo my work.
