I know why it has that name but it’s certainly not such a place by human standards.
Elysia, the homeworld and perfect place for steam-powered robots! The Chozo created this “people”, primarily to be their servants (as maintenance of the outpost was becoming cumbersome), but for some reason also decided to give the robots sapience. However, it’s debatable whether any of that sapience remains in the robots we find all over the place now. They certainly aren’t taking Samus’s Chozo-made suit as a sign of allegiance! (It’s possible Ghor is part of the problem, but he’s certainly not the entire problem, or we’d have no enemies left after he’s removed.)
This is about the closest we ever get to “futuristic city” with the Chozo, but it’s nothing like the Sanctuary of Aether. It’s all wiry bronze-colored architecture, and with the brown clouds covering the place, it’s kinda drab. Not to mention that it’s clearly run-down even with all the maintenance robots everywhere. It’s a miracle it hasn’t fallen out of the sky yet, but it’s a good thing it hasn’t. We wouldn’t have any way to get to the Seed without it.
