I was going to say they were overkill, but then I recognized that Samus has gotten through literally everything else they’ve tried.
To get to the Command Center, we have to enter a green door. There are a few other methods that take you into the room, but not in a way that you can actually accomplish the goal. Thus, the way that I went is actually the only way to get done what Dane wants. However, I’m not so sure the short fight is actually necessary. Yes, the Crawltank opens the way forward, but you also probably could just hit it with a Morph Ball Bomb or something like that. Oh well; it’s my fault for not noticing the lasers on time.
As for the fight to get the Nova Beam, I believe that’s the only time where the victory is accomplished by not killing everything quickly. I probably should have known better than to get sucked up by it myself, but it did give me the clue for the actual win. (Also, you might notice I’m not scanning upgrades anymore. It just tells you the name of the item and nothing else, and it doesn’t even go in your logbook, so there’s not much point in my opinion.) While shooting enemies that are in Hypermode while not also in Hypermode doesn’t do a ton of damage, this is only Veteran difficulty and Hypermode of my own kills them pretty quickly while also making me almost immune to damage. I’m wondering just how much they can tank on the highest difficulty. Probably enough that I don’t ever want to try it. I’m not quite that good at these games.
