Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

  • The Legend of Zelda (current: The Wind Waker HD)

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade (on deck: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy (current: Romancing SaGa 2)
  • Metroid (on deck: Zero Mission)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Choice series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

   A FAIRLY EASY START

Xenoblade Chronicles: No Armor challenge - https://youtu.be/eyxVraXuOYQ

So far, the random encounters are harder than the bosses.

Did I prep for this? Not exactly. The last time I played this game was for the Viewer Objective Challenge last year. But that challenge, following the speedrun route, did prep me for at least the early game. As I won't be able to pull off many of the strategies for boss fights starting in Chapter 8, which require precise timing for the most part in addition to buffs I don't have, I anticipate doing a lot more side questing starting next stream.

Getting to this point with only three losses is far better than I anticipated. I checked it against my fastest playthrough of the game (that is, the Viewer Objective Challenge) and this is about an hour behind, meaning I'm about a third of the way through the game. I guess we'll see how well that pace holds up. As I said in the video, the speedrun route has you jump to level 90 with a glitch. This level 90 party has some great equipment, but you can't see what it is because opening the equipment menu crashes the game after you pull off the glitch. That also means I can't take the armor off, which means I can't do the glitch, which means the end of the game is going to be way harder.

That final party is Riki, Dunban and Sharla, but I think mine will swap Sharla for Shulk. The Monado is just too big of a buff to pass up. I have Melia here instead of Riki, but I think I'll swap her out as soon as that Crest Cap is removable. Presently, she has the best defenses of the whole party. Riki, however, has the best healing that isn't on Sharla, and "Say Sorry" is probably the best red attack for a chain attack that I can get. (Sword Drive is great and all but Riki's mostly multi-target Ether attacks will be more useful, I think. And I really want the healing he can provide with You Can Do It.)
