Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

  • The Legend of Zelda (current: Ocarina of Time 3D: Master Quest)

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade (on deck: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy (current: Romancing SaGa 2)
  • Metroid (on deck: Zero Mission)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Choice series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

BASIC PICROSS 1A

Yes, this is my favorite type of puzzle. Why do you ask?

For a good long while, I was wanting for games to play on a plane that wouldn't drain the battery of my Switch. Then I stumbled across this game. And then I found out there was more.

$8 is the actual price (not the $5 I recalled), but every time they put out a new one, all the previous entries are on sale. The most recent entry is called Picross S+ and I don't have it because, well, no sale. Also because the vast majority of the game is $5 DLC packs (it has eight of those!) and I wasn't sure I wanted to grab it when I still have plenty of other games to play. I'm still thinking over whether I want to space this out like I'm doing with Power Wash Simulator. Not because I'm getting frustrated with it or anything; more because I have plenty of other games I want to get through.

I first wanted to stream this game when I watched another streamer struggle with Zelda Picross, a DS game that I sadly never received on the eShop while it was available. It's just nonograms using Twilight Princess objects, but it has a rather strict and unhelpful auto-correct function. The timer is an active detriment, as you "fail" the puzzle if you take over an hour to finish… and if you misclick on a space, you get 8 minutes added to the timer. I'll take this game's subtle "gray numbers turned black" for marking mistakes any day.
