Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Donkey Kong Bananza

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is on Mondays & Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy

  • Hollow Knight

  • The Legend of Zelda (on deck: Twilight Princess)

  • Metroid

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (current: X Definitive Edition)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • 5-year Stream Anniversary: Breath of the Wild 100%
  • Between Twitch series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

COOPERATION ACROSS GAMES

Hollow Knight Archipelago Randomizer - https://youtu.be/I7k3anenw_Y

This was my first time doing an archipelago. I'd say I did alright.

I set up my audio so that it should have recorded the Discord call. It did not. I have no idea what went wrong and I also don't know how to even test it. Yay. I guess I'll try something slightly different next time and see it that fixes it.

I was told to have something ready in case I was in BK Mode for an extended period. (BK Mode is how Negatron was for most of the time. It's basically where you have literally nothing that you can do in your game: all available checks have been made and you can do nothing but wait for your buddies to find something for you. It's called that because someone doing an Ocarina of Time Multiworld once said he was in "BK Mode, because I may as well just go to Burger King right now.") However, I didn't really. My backup was that I would probably swap to playing Picross on my Switch or something like that, but I know that Hollow Knight has quite a lot you can do with very little. Case in point, I was actively doing things the entire time, and I was the second to last to finish. (Last was Negatron, of course.)

I think randomizers are more fun when you have a lot of junk checks, so that's why I always randomize geo rocks when I get the option. Similarly, the multitude of recovery hearts and single rupees was because the Ocarina of Time player randomized pots. That also meant that when he hit the pot room in Castle Town, we got a lot of items all at once. It does mean that you'll be grabbing a bunch of things that the other players don't really need, but it lets you more thoroughly explore the game you're playing and still be doing productive things. If you don't randomize geo rocks in Hollow Knight, you end up with a low-cash run because it's simply not productive to get cash. It does, however, lead to me telling the Sonic Adventure 2 player that giving me cash is not a major event he needs to announce.
