Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

  • The Legend of Zelda (current: The Wind Waker HD)

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade (on deck: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy (current: Romancing SaGa 2)
  • Metroid (on deck: Zero Mission)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Choice series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

After finishing Picross S, I still had to fill the rest of stream. Cleaning the house did the trick!

I'll admit, this wasn't too bad of a job. Nothing was inordinately hard to clean, and the roof wasn't impossible to walk on. It did cause me to sort of drift a little, but drifting is much preferable to getting totally stuck. The most frustrating things to clean were basically the ones where you either could never get close enough at a good angle, or had to stand directly in front of to even hit (such as the wind vane). Also, that scaffolding would be way more useful if I could rotate it. As it is, I could barely place it anywhere.

I didn't expect the story that we got from Gretel for this. Maybe I would if I read the original fairy tale, but I don't recall them stealing from a bank and then hiding out in a cottage pretending to be bakers. I think the witch they took out did at least one half of that? In the version I recall, anyway.

I think, going forward, I'm going to have the setup of one puzzle set from Picross followed by one job for PWS. By "puzzle set," I mean the sets you get to from the main menu. Picross S only has one of those (excluding Mega) but future entries have up to four. The "Basic Picross" set is going to always be the same length. The other sets are all shorter.
