Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

NOTE: Due to life events, this schedule will be changing when the current Poll game finishes.

  • Final Fantasy

  • The Legend of Zelda (on deck: Twilight Princess)

  • Metroid

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (current: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

NOTE: Due to life events, this set will be put on hold at the conclusion of the current game.

  • Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Twitch series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

HOT & SUNNY MOONS

Super Mario Odyssey - https://youtu.be/qvffpNcTtw4

Time to see all these kingdoms have to offer!

The sheer amount of time it takes just to clear two kingdoms (and one was small!) should illustrate pretty well just how much there is in this game. I've got about 300 moons now of 880. That means I'm about 1/3 done. I'm not too sure I'll be finishing the game by stream 15, however; I've only done the easy third.

When I originally played through this game, I didn't know there were postgame moons. I thought that if I fully cleared it on the first time through, then I'd be done. WRONG! I think this is the first Mario game to lock collectibles like this, where you can visit the area and not have everything available from first visit. I mean, the others are level-based, so you can't do everything all in one go anyway. But you still could do everything before you beat Bowser. This ensures you'll need to revisit places after finishing the main story. Anyway, because I'd already gone through and cleared things out, I wasn't too keen on doing the revisit, and I just quit at some point. While I might not be getting every moon on this playthrough, I'll certainly take a few shots at every challenge. (And when we get to the big finale, I'm not shy about taking literally hundreds of tries at it. I think it took me thousands to get the one in 3D World done. It's just that I might not try that hard at things like jump rope.)

Quite a few collectathons (which is what this game seems closest to, in terms of broad category) require that you grab every single collectible in order to beat the game. Mario, meanwhile, has almost never done that. Thankfully. It's really put me off from trying those. Anyway, even the hardest level in this game doesn't require fully clearing every challenge. I unlocked it even on my first playthrough, and I barely got over half of the moons on that one. We'll be seeing it pop up likely before even reaching Cloud Kingdom (the place we first fought Bowser), but I'm still leaving it for the end. We're in this for the long haul.
