Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

  • The Legend of Zelda (current: Ocarina of Time 3D: Master Quest)

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade (on deck: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy (current: Romancing SaGa 2)
  • Metroid (on deck: Zero Mission)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Choice series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

LAST-MINUTE GO-BACKS

Final Fantasy XIII - https://youtu.be/7TLJLjtLu2I

I honestly could have just moved on. I didn't get nearly as much done as I'd hoped for six hours.

My hopes for the stream were to either finish Titan's Trials (I guess I got most of the way there) or to max out a class or weapon. I didn't really do either of those last items, especially the maxing out a weapon bit. 2 million gil is a lot.

Am I happy with the amount that I did get done? Yes. I got to at least see all of Titan's Trials―aside from the hidden final trial―and I learned what was on the last upgrade section in the Crystarium. Answer: lots of stat boosts, particularly HP. The reason this video is so short is that I cut out all the grinding, wandering the plains with a chocobo, and messing around with my inventory to upgrade accessories and whatnot. It sure didn't feel like six hours at the time; I'd just barely gotten started! And yet I also felt way past done with the game. I'll be happy to move on to the next game, assuming all the mods I installed last year let it actually run correctly.

(It's a mod pack. I followed the guide here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2038838545. Basically, it makes it so the game shouldn't crash, then upgrades the graphics and audio. If it doesn't run, I'll just fresh install and then do the mod for doubling the allowed RAM, which is the bare minimum and also only takes about thirty seconds instead of the full two hours.)
