Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

NOTE: Due to life events, this schedule will be changing when the current Poll game finishes.

  • Final Fantasy

  • The Legend of Zelda (on deck: Twilight Princess)

  • Metroid

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (current: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

NOTE: Due to life events, this set will be put on hold at the conclusion of the current game.

  • Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Twitch series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

NOT QUITE HUMAN

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition - https://youtu.be/GEFNFbIlRow

I'm slightly amused that the avatar thought green skin was normal.

I recall Hope's initial mission being locked to after Chapter 5 originally, with the line from the nameless NPC being about "synthetic" (rather than "mimeosome") bodies. It still should have been story locked like that, but changing the word does help a little bit. Knowing what that is now puts the question into better context, doesn't it? Regardless, this was one story bit I actually remembered. I don't think I know anything about the rest of the chapters until the final one. That's not to say I've exhausted my knowledge of the game, but the main story has nothing in the next few chapters that stuck with me. That's not to say I hated it: I loved Bravely Second and totally forgot its second half, too.

Part of the difficulty of the Bottoms Up mission is that, as I've noticed, the map doesn't mark off every instance of things you can collect or things you can kill to fulfill the current objective. Rather, it's the closest three to your current location. This causes problems when the easiest group is not the closest, as seen with that mission. (The big pause was me looking things up about it and not wanting to say I'm doing that because Luke can't.) The time spent looking up a solution to the problem online was feeling even more frustrating than the brick wall I thought I'd found, since nobody mentioned the mission being even slightly challenging. That's why I decided to see if there were others in the area, because as far as I can tell, this game lacks the Lure mechanic of the numbered entries.

I'm trying really hard to say "indigen" and "tyrant" (XCX terms) rather than "monster" and "unique monster" (XC# terms). Not only is "monster" the wrong terminology for the game, it's wrong for Luke. In his world, "monster" means "magic-imbued living thing;" Luke is a monster! If anything, he should be calling the foes "beasts." That at least would be somewhat correct.
