Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

  • The Legend of Zelda (current: The Wind Waker HD)

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade (on deck: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy (current: Romancing SaGa 2)
  • Metroid (on deck: Zero Mission)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Choice series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

THE FROZEN LAND

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven - https://youtu.be/gQLXe5pFNpE

Most game worlds have the icy place to the north, but I guess this game is in the southern hemisphere.

While the sorceror offered a quick way to end the volcano problem last time, I get the feeling it wasn't the only, or even best, solution. And I think the problem will recur in every era until I take the correct path, whatever that might be. Maybe I'll find that hidden grimoire by solving the volcano problem without freezing the mountain. Or I'll find it along the way.

Next up, we had Nazelle, particularly everything to do with the Mu herders. (Heh, moo, get it?) These cattle seem particularly suited for dealing with the cold, though perhaps not as cold as Antarctica in winter. And so we need to clear out the fiends on their path. Simple enough. I didn't expect that doing so would end the era, but this entire playthrough has been surprises. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite games. And then the university has to go and spoil a quest because the developers couldn't be bothered to come up with different exam questions depending on what you have and have not already done.

The affair with the corsairs had to be dealt with immediately. I've had enough money problems in the past in this playthrough that I could not abide having my funding nearly halved. Plus, I'd lost a player class! That's unacceptable. Speaking of player classes, the automaton does indeed have an impressive LP pool, but I'm finding that it not being controllable is a serious detriment to my damage and healing output. Not enough that I'm going to bother pulling it from the retinue for this era, but enough that I don't think I'll be choosing it again if it's not required for a quest.
