Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

NOTE: Due to life events, this schedule will be changing when the current Poll game finishes.

  • Final Fantasy

  • The Legend of Zelda (on deck: Twilight Princess)

  • Metroid

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade Chronicles (current: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

NOTE: Due to life events, this set will be put on hold at the conclusion of the current game.

  • Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Twitch series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

TINY KINGDOM CLEANUP

Super Mario Odyssey - https://youtu.be/wx4-NK5Pquc

The Cloud Kingdom does have a little more to offer than just a boss arena for Bowser.

Most of the kingdoms visited today were quite small. The Cloud Kingdom is especially compact. Also, my Koopa Freerunning routes were based on actual speedrun routes: namely, using cap jumps to skip major sections. I'm a little surprised the gold koopa took neither of those, but I'm not complaining. And while my Lake Kingdom route is just about exactly the route for speedruns, my Lost Kingdom route was and adaptation to not use those uncooperative trees. Also, I learned something new about how cap jumping works:

  • B > Y > ZL > Y ≠ cap jump
  • B > Y > ZL > Y (hold) = cap jump

Because Y is doing double duty here as the cap throw and midair dive button, you need to hold it after the second press to do a cap jump. (Also, ZL & ZR have identical functions.) Some of my frustrations in the Lost Kingdom come down to learning that. Other frustrations were because the controllers are small in my hands and are getting their signal to the console blocked. It's not usually an issue, but it can be and I hope it doesn't come up during something harder and longer.

I've not quite surpassed the halfway point for the moons. Again, though, this is the easy half. The Metro Kingdom is when the game starts adding minigames for moons, and the Round 2 moons are often quite a bit harder than most platforming challenges in the game. At least, they are for me. So while I've been able to grab every moon so far, I don't expect to do so going forward. I'll still try, but it might not happen.
