TO THE NEXT CONTINENT!

Visions of Mana - https://youtu.be/YcElJ1IC3KA

At last, the end of Chapter 1! I wonder how many chapters this game has?

Morley says he won't be coming back to the continent, but there were a few locations barred to me along my path, so even if we're still doing the sacrifice at the tree there's no way those other locations are relegated to New Game +. I could understand the level 50+ foes possibly being for that if we didn't have all the other stuff that obviously demands a revisit later. I do wonder how we'll be returning, though. Everything I've seen so far makes this sound rather like a one-way trip for everyone but Val. I don't think the townspeople would take it very well if he decided to turn around with the alms still in tow. Not many ships would likely give him passage.

Speaking of which, Eoren has given us the first hint at how to avoid the sacrifice of the alms. Considering the way the series has gone, it would be downright strange if we never found the Sword of Mana. We even got one in Legend, even if it was just an artifact that opened the way to the Mana Tree.

Finally, we get to the city. The architecture is mostly just that of a medieval port, though as I commented in the video, the decorations are akin to those of Zora's Domain in Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom. Since it's a water-based settlement, I suppose that's somewhat inevitable, even if the inhabitants are mostly humanoid squirrels or humans. Also, I noticed in editing: Morley intentionally uses gender-neutral language to describe the Queen when talking to Val, because he knows she's a woman even though she's dressed as a man, and he's going out of his way to not spoil the disguise while still being accurate. Val, to himself, says "that guy" when talking about the (undiscovered) Queen, while Morley, to Val, says "this individual."
