Dragon Writer Luc

Game Plans

Sundays:

A set of games I can play while watching the other streamers on the multistream and interacting with chat. Must fit the format of shorter (2-hour) streams.

  • Super Mario (current: Odyssey)

  • Picross S (when I need a break: S2)

  • Power Wash Simulator (between games)

Choice Games:

A set of games I really want to play, whether by express choice or a sense of obligation. Twitch viewers can populate this with a points redemption. Presently, I am finishing series that I started earlier and then gained further access to series entries after finishing the set.

This set is currently on weekdays.

  • The Legend of Zelda (current: The Wind Waker HD)

  • Pokemon
  • Wonder Boy
  • Xenoblade (on deck: X Definitive Edition)

Poll Games:

A set of games selected by viewer poll. I try to run entire series before moving to the next.

This set is currently on Saturdays.

  • Final Fantasy (current: Romancing SaGa 2)
  • Metroid (on deck: Zero Mission)

Event Games/Etc.:

Games and other streams voted on by the community for certain events. Most often, this is for annual events such as my Twitch Affiliate anniversary and my streaming anniversary, or as a break between finishing game series. There can be more of these if Twitch subscription milestones are hit.

  • Between Choice series: model building
  • First Saturday monthly: Hollow Knight Randomizer

TRIAL OF THE GODS

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD - https://youtu.be/OJMsULUhvA8

Luc's getting launched at a lot of walls during this adventure.

Normally, I keep the names of characters to their defaults. I think it just fits better. It might make for slightly less interesting Pokémon playthroughs, but especially for Final Fantasy and Zelda, keeping it on the default usually works better for me than inserting names. Especially in this instance where I used my own. (Well, my username. If you follow my writing, you know my real name's not Luc.) However, I did rename him this time for lore reasons. More on those reasons when we do NGP.

I really like how the statue gets ready to explode - and Luc notices and flees - but it only actually explodes when he's there to be launched. Convenient that we end up where we want to be. It's worth noting that the Triforce shown here isn't the only one: I tried to point it out earlier when we were in Zelda's room. The islands where we were supposed to get the pearls (that is, using Dragon Roost, Forest Haven and Greatfish) form an outer triangle, and the midpoints of those lines are where the Triangle Islands sit. So the Tower of the Gods sits at the center of that larger Triforce symbol as well. And then Luc hits the stone wall face-first for the second time on this adventure, but thankfully this time doesn't drop his sword because the only place it could fall would be the water.

I forgot that the Queen of Fairies won't see you prior to Forsaken Fortress 2. When I thought about it on-stream, though, I did realize that it would let you do things very much out of order (those Triangle fragments I'm picking up do diddly squat until you have all eight, so it's not a concern for the developers) and the devs wouldn't want that. Also, yes, it's a required item. So yes, Cyclos is required. It's not often that fast travel is required to obtain in a game, but I have been doing a bunch of required things at least a little earlier than necessary.

Finally, when I say 100% in the stream/video series, I mean that I'm getting all hearts, all  inventory items and all figurines, and filling out the whole map and getting all treasures from treasure charts. I am not doing all side quests, or more specifically, anything that only rewards you with rupees. There are plenty of rupees without bothering to do those.
