Epilogue, Part 2

And there’s the last Squad 7 helmet without the number destroyed!

Anthony’s helmet has the number on it concealed, presumably from his recent close proximity to lava, though it also conveniently hides his identity from anyone who forgot the line where Samus said that only he would call her Princess. This helmet, however, is pristine, because Adam only wore it until he got up there. If it has a record of him, then, it wouldn’t include this particular mission unless it was recording while he wasn’t wearing it. But otherwise, it’s the most complete record of his personality that anyone is likely to find, outside of Samus’s suit’s logbook.

With Phantoon also encountered here, that means that Kraid is actually the only major boss fight that is missing entirely! Phantoon is an excellent example of why beams are so much better than missiles in this game. Yes, super missiles do a lot more damage than charge shots, but you rarely have time to execute them. And with the Sensemove instant-charge, well, he just dies. Sending that many projectiles keeps me from healing, but it also means I never have to wait to charge. I’m going to guess his destruction of the Control Bridge is what caused the self-destruct, though that was a hefty delay. Not that I’m complaining! The final cutscene was short, but it was nice to have before that alarm blared.
