Elysian Data

Without this, I absolutely would never get 100%.

Even with the data, I almost didn’t get 100%! There’s no count on individual maps and I almost missed a check in Elysia entirely. Bonus points if you spot it on this video! I’d write these comments on the next blog post, but this is where I picked up the data I’d been talking about the whole game. Technically, I could have gotten all of it outside of the Space Pirate data when I got Spider Ball, but I felt it was better to just get it all at once. I clearly didn’t actually need all those items until the end of the game anyway.

The Valhalla doesn’t get any satellite data (for lore-obvious reasons), but also, every item aboard is very easy to find. There’s only one item per room and most are immediately after you add the Energy Cell(s). Add in the sound that upgrades make and you’d be a little hard-pressed to actually miss any. Still, the fact that I did miss an item in Elysia made me think I’d missed something somehow! The worst part is that I heard and noted the upgrade while I was in the area, yet totally forgot about it afterwards. I should have just looked around a little harder then.

Oh, and story stuff: the Secret Message there is a little hard to miss, given that (yet again) the password is in the very same room. There are no requirements to see that other than entering the room (getting all the Energy Cells is not relevant), and entering the room is required to finish the game, so it’s not very secret. It is another instance of something we read in some lore on the Pirate Homeworld, so even the message itself isn’t telling us anything we didn’t already know. But I guess it’s a “secret” because it’s foreshadowing something you might not otherwise guess.
