A Stranded Sniper

Alright, I was waiting for this upgrade.

“High heat weaponry” has been mentioned over and over for scans, particularly for things blocking Shot Ammo upgrades. The universal shot ammo has made its comeback from Hunters, and the upgrades are so plentiful early on that they clearly intend for you to use these just as often as missiles, if not moreso. I can’t really tell which is more powerful, but I think missiles are. They fire slower, however, so unless the foes lack a weakness to a shot type I have, I probably won’t be using missiles all that much. I might if I run out due to spamming charge shots, though.

After stream, I looked up the wolves, and it turns out that you are required to get ridiculously low on health. Unlike the win with 2 energy against Omega Pirate, having only 4 here was actually the win condition. Specifically, I need to last long enough that the wolves never stop attacking (which is around when I started actually taking damage), then take lethal damage. The sniper interferes only when you would actually get a game over. Thus, it’s possible to get a game over from that fight, but only if you mess up prior to the constant attack phase: once you get that far, you may as well stop shooting. That’s also why there are no enemies and lots of containers between you and the next cutscene. You’ll need to restock after that ordeal.
