
The Kingdom’s Edge: a barren place that holds far more significance than its population would suggest.
This kingdom has two “edges”, and the other is the Howling Cliffs. However, those cliffs are merely a small area that held the Stag Nest, and nothing else of importance is really there. Interestingly, there’s a Nailmaster at each, so far apart from one another. But the critical contents of the Kingdom’s Edge is the decaying corpse of the Wyrm, the original form of Hallownest’s King. I don’t know why entering that corpse grants the King’s Brand, but it did, and now I can make use of it at the one door that opens to it.
The Abyss is a definitively creepy place, and we don’t even have the lore yet for why it’s so creepy. Even knowing why does not make it any less scary for me, what with the Siblings appearing all over that deal double damage. At least the Lighthouse is safe now, but why did it ever turn off? The bug within said it could not turn off the Lighthouse, so I don’t know how it turned off. But that Shade Cloak at the back: that’s what I was there for, and that’s critical to have for all combat going forward. While it’s only required for three fights, I really wanted to have it for all the dream warriors and dream bosses. Those can be some nasty foes.
