Minus the first attempt, of course.
When the first three attempts after my win all got to Chaos, I wondered if I’d learned the game so well that not getting to Chaos would ever happen again, and if I should give the first few teams a second chance. Then I died in Marsh Cave again and all was well.
There’s not going to be a lot to say about any of these attempts, and there’s a reason I compress five attempts into one video. All that really matters are the boss fights, as those can be walls, and the fights where I lose. Chaos is probably going to be the most frequent run-ender, which kinda stinks because he’s the final boss and so I have to actually play the whole game to get to that point. Having 126 of these to do means that even doing them up to twice a week (or three times when I have an exceptionally poor run), I’m not going to finish this year. I’m hoping it finishes in 2027, because I do have other challenges to do, but also a lot of those are in Pokemon and I want to stream those games normally before I start doing ridiculous things with those. On the plus side, those probably take less time to get through than this challenge.
One of the best parts about the thief class in this game is that upon class upgrade, it gets just enough magic levels for both Temper and Haste. Haste just about doubles the damage dealt, and Temper ups attack power enough that it pretty much ignores the foes’ defense stats. The fact that it stacks with Saber (Giant’s Glove) and the Power and Speed drinks then means that I can do a frightening amount of damage, assuming the character can stay alive that long. Unfortunately, staying alive has proven to be a bit of a challenge.
